FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. How old do you have to be to play?

A. Although we like to say ages 10+, Soldier Gear does not limit the age a responsible child can play. As long as the child is mature enough to follow the few simple field rules we have and a parent/guardian is present to assist the child, we welcome and encourage younger players to give it a try at the parents discretion.

Q. Does it hurt to get shot?

A. Yes! LOL just kidding... Generaly NO, although expossed or sensitive areas can be bruised and left with a small bump or welt. Most players agree that at the time of being shot your adrenaline is pumping and you are having so much fun that you barely feel being hit at all. Consider this.. if it hurt our players would not come back and paintball wouldnt be as popular as it is!

Q. What should I wear?

A. Loose and baggy layers are usually recommended to first time or younger players. This allows them remove clothing as body temperature raises while still protecting the sensitive spots that you dont want expossed to being shot. Hooded sweat shirts and baggy cargo pants are a good start. Also players may opt to wear thin gloves to protect fingers and/or a toque or backwards baseball hat since most masks leave the top of the head expossed. Proper foot wear that gives good traction and support is a must. Although paintballs are non-toxic and water soluble, please keep in mind that players will be running around outside and possible crawling on the ground. Leave your sundays best at home.

Q. What if it rains?

A. Keep playing! Some of the best and most enjoyable times are during a nice rain pour! Unless there is thunder and lighting, our refs are prepaired to guide you out for more realistic and exciting games.
Q. Can i bring my own paint or gun?

A. Players are always welcome to bring there own marker or other equiptment, however please keep in mind that we do not fill C02 bottles and if thats what you currently own, unless you bring it pre-filled, you will be required to rent an air tank from us. Paintballs used must be purchased from Soldier Gear unless it is on a designated B.Y.O.P time/date which usually has a slightly higher flat rate walk-on fee. Paint purchased at SG can be saved and used on subsequent visits.

Q. How long can i play for?

A. As long as you'd like! We generally do not limit the playing time unless darkness or weather calls for it. As long as you have paint you are welcome to stay and participate in the action. Every player is differant and the amount of paint you shoot is upto you. Some players can make 200 balls last an entire afternoon, while other trigger happy players will empty a hopper (aprox 200 balls) in a single game. If you plan on spending a considerable amount of time playing, make sure you plan ahead and be prepaired to purchase more paint as to not cut your visit short. Remember extra or leftover paint can be brought back on your next visit.

Q. Do i need to make a booking?

A. If you plan on coming during normal times of operation then NO. You can show up as a single or small group for open walk-ons and enjoy your day playing with the other players. If you would like to have your own party that will only play games amung yourself and require a private referee OR would like to play at a time that we are not usually open, please call the field (705)725-1056 to arrange a private booking preferably 1 week in advance.
